Drop-in program.

This high-energy music and movement class will have us dancing and laughing!  We'll start with a story and then move to the music.

Sign up for Friendship Bracelet Making at the Barney Library for those in Grades 7 to 12. Make it as a gift for a friend, or just wear it yourself! Registration required. 

Let’s move and groove together in the Library! We will read a fun book and do some dancing. We will meet in the Hoppin Gallery upstairs at the Barney. This is a drop in program.

Students ages 6 to 12 can sign up to join us at the Barney Library to learn basic engineering and coding with Lego SPIKE Prime! Space is limited, registration is required.

EmpowerSTEM is a program for kids aged 7-12 that fosters hands-on exploration and problem solving through interactive activities and experiments, igniting curiosity and creativity.

Elaine Alexander, author of the book Anglerfish: The Seadevil of the Deep (a NEW CT Nutmeg Award nominee!!!) will be visiting our library for a very special visit.  She will share a story, ocean flannel board activity, and an anglerfish craft

Local resident and retired educator, John Sherman, is bringing his love for one of our oldest board games – “The Game of Kings!” - to the Farmington Library.  Beginners through advanced are welcome.

Stop by the Teen Space to Make! You can select an item to print on our 3D-printer, work on a Glowforge project with our available materials, or just do some low-tech crafting! 

Come join an hour of fiber arts, and learn the basics of knitting. If you have access to your yarn and needles you're welcome to bring them with you. If not, we have plenty of yarn and needles that you may use!

Invent the Summer features weekly STEM challenges created by kids, for kids! Complete each challenge for a chance to win fabulous prizes!

Bring your team of 2 or 3 or come on your own to participate in a cupcake decorating challenge at the Barney library! Decorate your cupcakes based on 3 separate challenges! Will your cupcake win the round?

Learn how to crochet a cute cuddly dragon along with the Teen Librarian in this weekly series! We will learn some basics of crochet and then make the dragon in pieces each week.

Cross the moat to begin your quest, where you will create a custom shield, build a catapult to attack the dragon, concoct a wizard charm, and more!

Busy with Bugs! Bugs Galore!  Enjoy the Thursday night fun with puppets, bug stories and a movie.  We will be making a glowing firefly craft.  This program is suited for ages 4 & up.
