A fun-filled half hour for child and caregiver featuring books, fingerplays, and lots of music.

Drop-in program.

This high-energy music and movement class will have us dancing and laughing!  We'll start with a story and then move to the music.

Please call the Library at 860-673-6791 to schedule your very own one-on-one time with a certified therapy dog.  Bring your own book or choose one of ours to snuggle and read.

For three-year-olds and their caregivers. Registration Required; registering for one class registers you for the whole 6-class session. 

Wear your costume and we will move and groove to some Halloween tunes! Let’s move and groove together in the Library! We will read a fun book and do some dancing. We will meet in the Gallery upstairs at the Barney.

In Bite Size Science we will share a story and complete an exciting experiment or project focusing on early science concepts.

Sign up and join us at the Barney Library to make a DIY tiered tray.  This is perfect as a jewelry holder or decorative display.  A simple do it yourself craft to use up mismatched dishes, candle holders or knobs.

In Pint-Sized Picassos we share a story and explore a different art medium that will aim to focus on both early literacy and fine motor skills. Caregiver must accompany their child.

Each week we’ll read a picture book then watch that book come to life as we play the picture book movie on our screen, followed by coloring time!

Drop-in event.

This book group is for those ages 18-30 looking to meet new people and discover new favorite books. Our books will range from literary fiction to sci fi/fantasy and memoirs to mystery/suspense. 

Drop in for a workshop with the fearless assemblage artist, Sarah Schneiderman. Sarah's artwork is unique and creates a much needed conversation.

In October we will discuss "Remarkably Bright Creatures" by Shelby Van Pelt

Ages 4 – 5, for the child alone. Registration Required. Please note that you only need to register once for all 26 weeks. 

Drop by the Teen Space on Mondays to unwind and watch a movie chosen by your votes!

Join us every Friday for an hour of free-writing and discussion. Each session will have prompts, guidance, and absolute fun. Bring your writing questions or just your ideas to workshop.

Join Layavinyasa as we learn about a brief history and origin of Indian classical music and dance, the fundamental notes of Carnatic, classical music and a song, and hand gestures that depict elements of nature.

Marc Berger is a nationally touring artist based out of central NY. Berger has performed at Austin’s South X Southwest Music Festival and the Kerrville Folk Festival, and have opened shows for Bob Dylan and other national acts.
