Upcoming Events

Ages 12 - 23 months with a caregiver. A fun-filled half-hour featuring books, fingerplays, and lots of music and movement.

Please note there is no class 10/14 and 11/11 as the library is closed.

Romp, stomp and roar with us at the Barney Library for a special DiNOVEMBER storytime! Come enjoy some dinosaur stories, songs and a special craft. Perfect for toddlers and preschoolers, siblings welcome! Registration required.

For three-year-olds and their caregivers. Registration Required; registering for one class registers you for the whole session. 

Let’s move and groove together in the Library! We will read a fun book and do some dancing. We will meet in the Hoppin Gallery upstairs at the Barney. This is a drop in program.

Ages 3-6. Stop by the main library and watch a DINO-mite picture book come to life on our projector screen, followed by coloring or craft time!

The Afterschool Art Club is a block of time set aside to come in and work on an art project that drives your creativity. Assorted supplies available.

Homeschoolers ages 7-9 are invited to discuss 2025 CT Elementary Nutmeg Book Award Nominees each month with the Farmington Libraries and Avon Free Public Library!  Each library will alternate months hosting the discussion.

This high-energy music and movement class will have us dancing and laughing!  We'll start with a story and then move to the music.

Visit our gift-making stations to create handmade gifts for all occasions.  Bring an empty box with you to carry your gifts home in.

Join Miss Amy and Mrs. Hacker and discover all things graphic novels at the Barney Library! Which ones are your favorites? Did you know they come in all different genres just like other books? Want to learn how to write your own?

Come to the library to make a "sweet" house for the Winter season.  Supplies will be provided; registration for each child required.
