Let the People Decide: A Conversation on Voting Rights

Join filmmaker Gavin Guerra and CCSU Professor Dr. Walton Brown-Foster for an engaging conversation on voting rights, past and present.

Gavin Guerra and Dr. Brown-Foster will discuss important major themes of voter suppression and racial injustice, and the significance of youth-led movements. These themes feature prominently in Guerra's film, Let the People Decide, which describes the contentious history of voting rights beginning in the 1960s until today. Guerra's film has been featured in the Margaret Mead Film Festival and the Harlem International Film Festival, among other venues.

Attendees will have a chance to ask questions and are encouraged to join in the discussion. Registrants will be sent a link to separately view the film several days before the program.
