Virtual Chess for Beginners

Professional chess coach and player, Shawn Parker, from DIG USA will be teaching a virtual beginner’s chess class. This is an amazing opportunity for you to learn more about chess and to apply those strategies in real life. Participants will receive a Zoom link to join the lesson, where coach Parker will share the screen and teach for the first 30 minutes. Then the coach will pair up students and let them play on chess.com for 25minutes. Last 5-10 min,  the coach will analyze students game and point out the strength and weaknesses.

Registrants will need to create a free Chess.com account and send that account username and their full name to the library at ebajrami@farmingtonlibraries.org by Saturday July 17^th in order to participate.  We will then send the Zoom login information for the program.
