Everything Elderberry with Susannah Shmurak

Susannah Shmurak will discuss her new book Everything Elderberry, which explores the science behind elderberries' renowned health benefits, their traditional uses, and everything you need to know about foraging, growing, and cooking with elderberries and elderflowers. The book includes more than 60 recipes for using these delightful gifts from nature, everything from simple teas and tinctures to muffins, sorbet, wine, and skincare.

Used for centuries to fight illness, elderberries’ reputation as an effective home remedy for colds and flu has been supported by numerous scientific studies. Both elderberry and elderflowers contain potent antioxidants that support long-term health, and ongoing research is investigating their uses for treating brain disorders, cardiovascular issues, and cancer. Everything Elderberry draws on historical texts, peer-reviewed scientific research, and interviews with experts from around the world.
