Program Description

Event Details

Please join Alan Perrie to hear some surprises about Unionville’s History and the inaccuracy of information. From researching at the West End Branch Library to Farmington Libraries’ Farmington Room, Perrie discusses his findings from over 35 years of research and study. Alan highlights when he discovered a 40 year old historic error that led to inaccurate information being spread online that took over a year to correct. Alan will also share his experiences finding the location of the three major unmarked dams that powered Unionville’s industrial economy as well as being the creator of the first historical marker that presented Unionville’s industrial history.

About the Presenter:
Alan Perrie has spent 34 years teaching in the Bristol Public School system and is the author of 4 copyrighted publications for geography teachers. He recently authored most of the Town of Farmington’s Historic Hikes, Walks, and Historic Markers.
