What you need to know about the Covid-19 Vaccine
Do you have questions about the Covid-19 vaccine? Join Dr. Virginia Bieluch, Chief of the Division of Infectious Diseases at The Hospital of Central Connecticut and MidState Medical Center, for an informative session. Dr. Bieluch will cover topics such as vaccine efficacy, Covid-19 variants, and what we know about vaccine safety in children. A Q&A session will follow.
Dr. Virginia Bieluch Bio
Dr. Virginia Bieluch is the Chief of the Division of Infectious Diseases at The Hospital of Central Connecticut (HOCC) and MidState Medical Center.
Dr. Bieluch has more than 40 years of experience in the medical field. She graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Yale-New Haven Hospital and a fellowship in Infectious Diseases at Tufts New England Medical Center. Prior to her arrival to HOCC, Dr. Bieluch was a faculty member at the Medical College of Ohio.
Dr. Bieluch has become a recognizable and trusted medical professional during the COVID-19 pandemic and rollout of the vaccines. She’s been providing a tremendous amount of information and insight to communities across Connecticut through interviews on television, radio, and in print.
In addition to her role as Chief of Infectious Diseases at HOCC, Dr. Bieluch is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Connecticut and has been recognized for her teaching ability among medical students. She also serves on numerous committees, including the HHC System Antimicrobial Stewardship Council, Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee at HOCC, and UCONN ID fellowship Clinical Competency Committee.
