From Jazz to Soul: Rhonda Denét and the Silver Fox Songs Trio

The Farmington Libraries welcome the extraordinary vocal talents of Rhonda Denét, who, accompanied by the Silver Fox Songs Trio, will perform a collection of jazz standards and soul classics that spans 5 decades. You’ll enjoy hits from a time when the "First Lady Of Song," Ella Fitzgerald graced the stage to when the "Queen of Soul," Aretha Franklin ruled the airways. Homage will be paid not only to Ella and Aretha, but also to jazz stylists Billie Holiday, Dinah Washington, Nina Simone, and Nancy Wilson as well as soul divas Etta James, Martha Reeves, Mary Wells, and Gladys Knight. After celebrating all who have influenced her, Rhonda will share some of her original music. Through the music, the magic, and the message, there is bound to be something for everyone!

Rhonda Denét Bio

A star in her own right, Ms. Denét began studying music at an early age. Her passion led her to earn a Bachelor of Music from New York University and a graduate degree in Arts Administration from Florida State University’s School of Music. Since 2007 she has been active in the professional music scene as a writer, producer, and singer with several New York area bands.

This concert will be held on the lawn behind the Barney Library. Remember to bring blankets or chairs for seating!
