Program Description

Event Details

Deirdre & Sean Murtha and Bonnie & Dan Milner will sing authentic maritime and immigration songs from the golden age of transatlantic sailing ships, including the sea shanties that recently found fame on the TikTok media platform but, actually, have been kept alive for decades at Mystic Seaport here in Connecticut and South Street Seaport in Manhattan. They will sing plenty of chanteys, love songs and laments!

Bio

The Murthas and The Milners have sung at various venues and have partaken in festivals from California to the British Isles and Europe!  These engaging performers sing a capella and accompanied, just the way the sailor and immigrant poets did!    The group sings as a quartet, and in trios, duos and as soloists.
