Celebrate a New Year with Singer-Songwriter Josée Vachon

Join us for a special New Year concert! Singer-Songwriter, Josée Vachon, celebrates a new year with favorite French & French-Canadian songs celebrating la joie de vivre, family, the passage of time, and new beginnings! The concert is recorded from her home in a warm, informal setting with her guitar accompaniment. Join us after the program for a chat on Zoom and Josée will even take a few requests!

Bio

Josée Vachon began singing publicly while a college student at the Univ. of ME, upon discovering its  large French-Canadian population. She has performed for over 35 years through New England, eastern Canada as well as France, representing Franco-American culture.

She has 12 solo recordings and 2 with her band, Chanterelle. She has received several honors and awards from Franco-American organizations, cultural and educational groups, as well as making Yankee Magazine’s Top 40 music pick, has an original song on a Smithsonian Folkways CD and recently received a fellowship from Mass. Cultural Council for her work in traditional arts.

She hosted over 500 episodes of "Bonjour!", a French variety cable TV show from Manchester, NH that reached 3 million households throughout the east coast, and was a guest singer/actress for 17 shows of  Acadian culture in The Christmas Revels at Sanders Theater in Cambridge.
