Event Details
Eighty-five years ago, on November 8, 1938, Nazi storm troopers and gangs of Hitler Youth rampaged across Germany and Austria in a government-instigated pogrom against Jews, leaving over a hundred dead and shards of broken glass from homes, schools and businesses littering the streets. Deborah Levison recounts her parents' experiences in these years.
She joins us Thursday, November 9, 2023 to tell their stories. Her mother, a fourteen-year-old girl, imprisoned in a ghetto, terrified and alone; and her seventeen-year-old father, forced on death marches from one concentration camp to the next, starved and beaten, while Nazis deported his entire village to Auschwitz to be gassed and burned.
