The Farmington Libraries Announces Call for Artist Submissions

The Farmington Libraries are excited to announce a call for artist submissions for the two galleries available at the Farmington Libraries, the Jay Johnston Community Room located at the Main Library (6 Monteith Drive), and the Hoppin Gallery located at the Barney Library (71 Main Street). Artists can begin to submit applications for the 2024 Review. The Libraries welcome new artists to showcase their work in either of our exhibition spaces for 4 – 6 weeks.

The Jay Johnston Community room has thirty-four cloth-bound drywall panels measuring approximately 76” length by 42” width with some obstructions and some partial panels. The Hoppin Gallery has thirty-two panels, five are obstructed and nine are partial. Artists can use nails, staples, or non-invasive methods of hanging to place their work upon the panels.

Applications will be reviewed by the Libraries’ Art Committee, and can be found https://www.farmingtonlibraries.org/gallery. The Libraries encourage both professional artists and interested amateur artists to apply. Please be advised that both galleries are only accepting two-dimensional artwork, including paintings, photography, collage, multimedia works, fabric art, weavings and quilts at this time.

If you have any questions regarding our art gallery spaces or the application process, please contact Heidi Schulz-Vendrella via email at hschulz-vendrella@farmingtonlibraries.org.

Thank you,

The Farmington Libraries Art Committee
