On Tuesday, May 6, the Farmington Libraries will host a seminar on breast cancer awareness for all women and their loved ones looking to learn more information on detection and screening. This event will take place at 7:00 p.m. at the Main Library at 6 Monteith Drive.
Julie Gershon is a radiologist based in Avon. In this thirty minute talk, she will share what radiologists look for when conducting your annual mammogram, what the current literature recommends, the value of breast ultrasound, the risk factors for breast cancer, and what BRCA genes are and what to do if it is determined you have them.
Advanced registration is required for the program. Please register in advance by calling the library at 860-673-6791 or using this link.
The Farmington Library is part of the Farmington Village Green and Library Association. If you have special needs to attend library programs, contact the library in advance.
