On Wednesday, July 8, the Farmington Libraries will host Senior Voices, an award-winning workshop designed to teach seniors how to express themselves through poetry. This event will take place at 2:00 p.m. at the Barney Library at 71 Main Street.
Created and taught by poet Andy Weil, this program is specifically designed to bring the therapeutic qualities of the poetry writing process to seniors. In 2012, the Senior Voices program won a national award from the Assisted-Living Federation of America (ALFA). Seniors interested in developing a creative outlet or sharing stories and experiences are encouraged to attend.
Instructor Andy Weil is a published performance poet-humorist, and member of the Faxon Poets of West Hartford.
This event is free and open to the public. Please register in advance for this program by calling the library at 860-673-6791, using the online registration form, or visiting the Information Services Desk.
The Farmington Library is part of the Farmington Village Green and Library Association. If you have special needs to attend library programs, contact the library in advance.
