Garmany Music Series: Joy to the World, Holiday Music for Guitar and Mandolin

Handler photo high resOn Saturday, December 6, the Farmington Libraries will host the Connecticut-based husband and wife team of Judy Handler and Mark Levesque for a guitar and mandolin concert entitled, “Joy to the World: Holiday Music for Guitar and Mandolin.” This event will take place at 2:00 p.m. at the Farmington Main Library at 6 Monteith Drive.

Joy To The World: Holiday Music for Classical Guitar and Mandolin will include instrumental renditions of traditional and contemporary holiday music that will cover a variety of lively tunes and lyrical melodies from many countries, including the U.S., Puerto Rico, England, Wales, Ireland, France, Italy, Ireland, Spain and Eastern Europe. Audiences respond with great enthusiasm to the extraordinary sound, amusing anecdotes and the joyful spirit of the music.

Handler and Levesque have performed over 1,500 concerts together throughout New England and the Midwest including the Autorino Hall at the Bushnell, The Jewish Museum in New York, Troy Music Hall, The Brooklyn Museum of Art, The Connecticut Guitar Society, First Night Westport, Music Mountain and many others. Their CDs Passion, Acoustic Blend & Two Guitars Live! have received critical acclaim and have been sold in dozens of countries throughout the world.
