This fall, the Farmington Library will be hosting a series of film viewings and lectures with local movie buff Martha Reingold. Films based on books will be shown, followed by analysis of background, themes, and more. Viewings will begin at 6:15 p.m. at the Main Library, located at 6 Monteith Drive.
Film and literature lovers are encouraged to take part in these evenings of entertainment and engrossing discussion. This month’s film is Paper Moon, and it will be shown on Monday, November 2, at 6:15 PM.
“Paper Moon” is a charming film based on the book “Addie Pray” by Joe David Brown. Addie is a little waif and her “maybe-father” Moze, is a con-man par excellence. As Addie trails along behind her reluctant father, she learns his trade by osmosis. The film stars a real father-daughter pair with Ryan O’Neal as Moze and Tatum O’Neal as Addie. She won the Best Supporting Actress Oscar and became the youngest person to ever receive that award.
This event is free and open to the public. Please register in advance for this program by calling the library at 860-673-6791, using the online registration form, or visiting the Information Services Desk. If you have special needs to attend library programs, contact the library in advance.
