Library Services

Partnership with SCORE Mentoring Services

The Farmington Libraries is now partnering with SCORE, a nonprofit organization that helps small businesses get off the ground, grow and achieve their goals through education and mentorship. Whether you are a first time entrepreneur or a fourth generation business owner, SCORE has experienced mentors who are matched to your needs. They can listen to your business challenges, help you understand the problems, analyze opportunities and offer friendly support and business coaching.

To schedule an appointment with a SCORE volunteer at the Farmington Libraries please call the Information Services Department at 860-673-6791. SCORE meetings are scheduled between the hours of 10:00AM and 2:00PM on the third Wednesday of each month.

SCORE also partners with the Farmington Libraries and other organizations to offer workshops covering a wide array of pertinent subjects and issues facing small businesses at all stages.

Meeting Space
Conference and study rooms are available at the Main Library for off-site meetings and large programs rooms for events are available at both libraries. The Main Library also maintains a technology lab with a Smart Board.

Internet Access & Printing
Free WiFi and public PCs with high quality network printing capabilities. Color photocopier, scanning, and faxing also available.

The Maker Space

The Farmington Library Maker Space is located on the 2nd floor of the Main Library. The space offers training and access to professional-level technology and software to support and encourage skill-building, entrepreneurship, innovation, collaboration, and creativity. Adobe Creative Suite
Access the entire catalog of Adobe’s creative software, including Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator and InDesign to meet all of your marketing and creative needs. Design logos, print marketing, and create videos to promote your business.

3D Design and Prototyping
Designers and inventors can use 3D design software and printers to create and fine-tune prototypes.

Video Editing
Use Final Cut Pro and Adobe Creative Suite to create and edit videos for promoting your business.
